Even though the things we went through were tragic, they made us stronger, preparing us to help others out later on in life. Our stories can have such an impact on people and by speaking out, we can help save so many lives out there. We shouldn't look at our scars as bad things. Our scars show a story of survival and are a testimony to the hard times we had to overcome to make it this far. Make the most of your life. Your past is over with and gone. Start living for you. When you believe, you can and will achieve.

Sometimes in life darkness is all you see
You wonder what it takes from the pain to be free.
With no one there to guide you, you walk alone on a one way street
While from others you just take the heat.
No one can even begin to understand what you've been through
Instead labeling you they are so quick to do.
They focus on the scars that show
Judging and forming opinions on things they don't know.
It's easy for you to feel different
Because trauma you experienced in your life left a huge dent.
Loneliness settles in when with you nobody can identify
To the world you wish to say good-bye.
Your scars from everyone else you attempt to hide
Shame from the past replaces all your pride.
You don't even know why you have feelings of guilt
When it wasn't your fault that tragedies destroyed the self-esteem you built.
All you desire in life is a second chance
Hoping to find a higher place where you can advance.
The pain you would like to completely forget
For thinking about it only causes you to be sad and upset.
Your scars take time to heal
But about you a story of survival they reveal.
They show a testimony of the fighter you are
Working hard and not giving up got you this far.
For helping others later on your experiences prepared you
As bad as they were, you grew stronger because of what you went through.
Over the events that took place you had no control
However, no longer a victim, you play the survivor role.
After everything you endured, you came a long way
Intead of quitting, you chose to move on to a brighter day.
Your courage aided you in making a major breakthrough
Now by using your voice, others you can help rescue.
You'd be surprised how much an impact your story could make
Healing out there many a heartache.
By speaking out, you make a big difference
Giving hurting souls some guidance.
The days of your past are gone
To a better future you decided to move on.
Life is not lived by looking behind
Focus on the future and your destiny you will find.
Don't ever think it's too late
You have a special calling that patiently does wait.
From this life you are not absent
Go out and seize the moment.
The opportunities out there are endless
Strength to pursue your dreams you possess.
Make the most out of the life you've been given
For yourself really start livin'.
Putting the past behind, once again start believing
Dreams and goals you'll find yourself achieving.
There's no limit to what you can do
Because you are a survivor who made it through.
